Obeying the Government Covid Lockdown rules, Rotary clubs took a break during the pandemic from their annual quiz. But now the quiz is back. Six teams, two from the Rotary Club of Melton Mowbray, and one each from the Rotary clubs of Leicester, Leicester Novus, Oadby and Wreake Valley competed in the first of several first-round matches to which all 80 clubs in the east Midlands were invited.
At the half-way stage — Novus, represented by husband and wife Frazer and Carolyn, Jason and president Jim — were placed third. But after the interval and a further four rounds, Novus had slipped to fifth place.
Winners were Wreake Valley, whose president, Fiona Pimm, received a certificate and the prize of £50 from quizmaster Assistant Governor Richard Power.
From their competitors, Fiona’s team received congratulations and wishes for success in future rounds.
