Rabiha Hannan, one of the founders of the charity New Horizons in British Islam, was guest speaker at a meeting of Leicester Novus Rotary Club when she outlined its\u00a0history and objectives.<\/p>\n

Mother of four Rabiha, a former pharmacist at Leicester Royal Infirmary, said that the national charity was started about four years ago but has been making rapid progress in the last couple of years. It holds conferences and takes part in campaigns to allow Muslims here to feel at home in Britain as British Muslims.<\/p>\n

Rabiha, a former director\u00a0of the Islamic Society of\u00a0Britain, and Project Co-ordinator of the Respect scheme in schools, was engaged in a lengthy friendly chat with the Rotarians, who included Christians, a Sikh, a Jain and four Hindus, long after her talk had earned her a good round of applause.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
