Twenty guests of Leicester Novus Rotary enjoyed a canal boat trip with the Peter Le Marchant Trust on the final day of the charity’s season.<\/p>\n

They set off from the trust’s headquarters in Beeches Road, Loughborough, at 10am and stopped near the Waterside Inn at Mountsorrel for lunch before returning to Loughborough at 3pm.<\/p>\n

For most of the Rotary club’s guests, this was their first time on a narrowboat.<\/p>\n

Just as in the two previous trips financed by the Rotary Club, the passengers were eager to learn more about the history of\u00a0Britain’s canal system and the history of the charity<\/a> which started in 1977.<\/p>\n
