Eleven pupils at Mellor Primary School, Checketts Road, Leicester, have been recognised as Rotary Stars.<\/p>\n

Nominated by teachers, friends or themselves, all 11 have demonstrated that they have have worked for the benefit of others.<\/p>\n

All received a certificate and a lapel badge from\u00a0Pam Spokes, the secretary of the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus, and member Jim Matthews at a celebration assembly at the school.<\/p>\n

In addition, two also received gift vouchers of \u00a35\u00a0as a reward for making exceptional efforts.<\/p>\n

Krrish Limachiya, who was not photographed, was adjudged to be a Rotary Star for\u00a0being helpful in class without prompting.<\/p>\n

President Gemma Kiddy, who was also at the assembly presenting awards on behalf of The Spark Arts \u2014\u00a0her charity of the year last year\u00a0\u2014 says: “These Rotary Star awards are designed to encourage good attitudes to learning, helping others and good citizenship.” Novus is working with other schools whose children deserve recognition and encouragement..<\/p>\n
