Matthew and Keith have all the skills. But tools are important too. They brought with them a special spade with a circular blade which proved an easy way to dig a hole big enough for a couple of crocus bulbs. Joining Novus Rotarians Pam Spokes and Jim Matthews on duty at this session were Pam’s husband Rodney, of Leicester Rotary Club, John Niblett, of Oadby Launde Rotary. They were also joined by parents and children who droped in to plant some crocus bulbs as they left school. “We are very grateful to everyone who has helped us in this project.” said Pam, the secretary of Leicester Novus Rotary. “Without them, our Rotary Club could not achieve what we have.”<\/p>\n

Centrepiece of the garden\u00a0\u2014 an area to be used by pupils, parents and staff for quiet reflection\u00a0\u2014 will be a Rotary Peace Pole bearing the prayer and message “May Peace Prevail Upon the Earth” <\/strong> and a solar-powered\u00a0water feature.\u00a0They will be ‘unveiled’ in the coming months when the peace garden is officially opened.<\/p>\n
