The LOROS Local vehicle taken off the road after it was damaged by thieves<\/p><\/div>\n<\/header>\n

Several of the visitors had watched the bad news on the TV just before the meeting; a brand-new \u00a380,000 LOROS Local vehicle had been attacked by thieves who stole its exhaust system. The vehicle was needed every day that week, which was Hospice Care Week. The purpose-built vehicle doubles as a highly-visible branded information centre and as a mobile treatment centre.<\/p>\n

The good news is that the visiting Rotarians were able to get a preview of the new day therapy centre and the outpatients extension which were to open three days later.<\/p>\n

Their guide was\u00a0Adrian Walker, the hospice’s Senior Fundraiser and Community Lead, who is himself a member of Bradgate Rotary Club. Adrian last took Novus members to the hospice about four years ago after the club had donated a substantial sum to the\u00a0 charity.<\/p>\n

Adrian was thanked by Channi Riyait who, as an owner of an African Grey parrot, is looking forward to returning to LOROS in the spring when the visitors will be able to see the aviary. Channi handed over \u00a376 collected from those present who were distressed to hear about the damage to the mobile resource centre.<\/p>\n
