A dozen\u00a0members of the Rotary Clubs of Leicester Novus, Leicester and the Rotary Club In Formation of Bradgate toured Warning Zone to experience the dramatic learning environment visited by 9,000 schoolchildren last year.<\/h5>\n
Warning Zone is a charity established in a former warehouse in Frog Island, Leicester, which\u00a0helps children aged 10 and 11 to assess risks in eight different scenarios.<\/h5>\n
Some of the zones contain slightly scary special effects. But\u00a0one of the visitors announced that the scariest thing she was was a\u00a0big spider!<\/h5>\n
About 10 of the 60 volunteers who escort the children are members of Rotary Clubs in Leicestershire. Two, Lesley Trivett (Bradgate) and Jim Matthews (Novus) escorted their friends around the zones before they all enjoyed a finger buffet.<\/h5>\n
During the evening, Warning Zone’s Operations Manager and\u00a0recently-appointed Community Fundraiser Steph Osborne explained\u00a0that it costs \u00a35 per child to attend and that it if were not for cash donations from Rotary clubs, Lions Clubs, Masons and other benefactors,\u00a0Warning Zone could not continue.<\/h5>\n
