Shelterboxes being carried to the remote areas of Nepal
\ndevastated by the earthquake<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nNo-one could have predicted when Alan Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Hinckley Ambion, spoke to Leicester Novus Rotary Club a couple of weeks\u00a0after Typhoon Pam struck in the Pacific that Nepal would have been devastated by an earthquake only a fortnight later.<\/p>\n
Alan, the District 1070 Ambassador for Shelterbox, told members all about\u00a0how the charity, which had been started in Cornwall by a Rotarian.<\/p>\n
He showed members the Shelterbox and its contents, which enable families to survive, when disasters like the typhoon and the earthquake wreak havoc.<\/p>\n
His PowerPoint presentation and his words went down well.<\/p>\n
Novus members made donations to Shelterbox via the Rotary In Great Britain and Ireland website so they would attract Gift Aid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
