Friendship… another benefit of Rotary

Friends reunited: Novus and Ashby Castle:

Ask any Rotary club member what they get out of their membership and before long they will use the word ‘fellowship’, or ‘friendship’ or even ‘family’.

Regularly working within our clubs for the benefits of other people develops a real sense of family. Neighbouring clubs often unite to serve together. To facilitate that process, the 46,000 clubs across the world form localised groups which encourages frequent contact to develop fellowship.

Over time, these links between clubs develop into enduring friendships between members. So it was with real happiness that Leicester Novus Rotary welcomed Ashby Castle Rotary Club to a delicious meal at Spice Bazzar in Welford Road.

As always, the chat over the dinner table ranged from travel, holidays, families, motoring and much more. There was a lot of discussion about the games the clubs would play in the so-called District Minor Sports, another initiative to foster friendships between clubs. Ashby Castle have been tasked with organising a competition against Market Bosworth. They will challenge their opponents to play Jenga and a variant of Buckaroo. Novus members hope to play skittles against Ashby.

Watch this space and we’ll keep you posted!
