Our recent Rotary Stars from Mellor Primary School

Rotary Stars is the name of a Rotary project designed to reward and encourage good citizenship. Youth Service lead Pam Spokes is the member who runs it for the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus.

Mellor Primary School pupils nominated for Rotary Star awards for the Summer term, were presented with their certificates at the school before the end of term.   To mark the occasion, a short video was created with photos and audio recorded by fellow pupils, and this can be seen here.

Nominations were also received for Year 6 pupils, and their Rotary Star certificates were presented by Club Youth Lead, Pam Spokes, at a special Leavers’ Assembly at the school on the last day of term, in the presence of parents and family.   Some photos taken following the assembly are shown below:

Nimit Prakash, is friendly and a good listener. He inspires those around him with his artistic skills and is always willing to offer advice and support

Harjap Singh Boparai, is cheerful, polite and enthusiastic; a wonderful role model. He shows kindness and good humour and inspires those around him

Zena Patel, is hardworking, positive and dedicated to supporting our mental wellbeing. She is a kind and considerate friend, who is always there when most needed

Sneha Valand, is cheerful, positive and determined to be the best she can be, never giving up even when the challenge is tricky. She is a kind and considerate friend

Viraj Sanchaniya, is positive and supportive and helps to make the classroom a wonderful place. He is very sensible and consistently follows rules and instructions

Diya Rana, is a supportive, kind and caring friend, always there when needed. She has a positive attitude to all areas of school

Rohan Khushal, always looks on the bright side even when things are looking bleak and is a great role model. He is resilient and shows a great mindset

Shreya Saxena, is a great team player, inspiring others during sports events. She always helps others and is welcoming and friendly

Cameron Kingra, has been a fantastic learning partner, supporting others, showing perseverance, determination and great patience. He works well collaboratively and independently

Dharvi Chimangiri, has demonstrated a positive attitude, always shows determination and resilience, working well independently and collaboratively and encouraging others

Heli Patel, has shown great friendship, respect and support to her peers, particularly in art where she has provided great tips and advice

Nishth Bamani, has been a fantastic learning partner, showing great patience, perseverance and determination; helping them develop confidence in contributing to discussions

Rotary Stars is only one of many projects and competitions organised by Rotary Clubs across the country. Rotarians say that Youth Service is one of the most rewarding avenues of service and provides a major commitment to educating future generations.
