Members of the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus and guests enjoyed a delicious meal at The Cheney Arms, Gaddesby, and added a few pounds to the coffers of two charities.
Among the guests was Charlotte, an employee of member Adrian McGreevy. The last time members met Charlotte was when she made them personalised high-vis jackets, pens, mugs and place mats. Two days later she married. So members were delighted to see her wedding photos and to hear about the wedding and honeymoon.
The thirteen diners enjoyed comparing their different starters, mains and desserts and mince pies. Everyone congratulated Diana and Bert Thurston on finding such an excellent venue.
Donations resulted in a small profit for Babygear. Member Maya Vansia, who is the charity’s general manager, said the money would help provide a Christmas meal for the charity’s volunteers and service users. LOROS, the chosen charity of President Dipan Bhagalia, was also given some cash. That will be added to the amount which the Rotary Club has been raising during Dipan’s year as president.
All members wished one another — and all their friends and supporters — a very happy Christmas and a 2015 full of peace.
