The Leicester Novus Rotary Club’s hopes (?) of progressing further in the District Minor Sports competition came to an end at the Black Dog pub in Oadby when the Rotary Club of Hinckley Ambion beat them at skittles.
As always in these matches, there was lots of excellent banter about the competitors’ prospects of going further… possibly even to Skegness (soon the Rotary Club there might become part of District 1070).
The conversation continued at ‘half time’ pub over an excellent £5 pub meal organised by Novus secretary Frazer Robson and captain David Clorley. But at the end it was Hinckley Ambion who had won by 174 points to 158.
The Novus team wish their friendly opponents good luck for the future rounds.
