Many national and international charities rely on the support of Rotary Clubs and Rotarians.
Often, Rotarians will hold events to raise money for charities and just as often, they will step in to help charities run their own events.
Half a dozen members of the the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus stepped up to help Marie Curie Cancer Care hold a bucket collection in the centre of Leicester. Husband and wife Deepak and Sheema Karia, who were interested in joining the club, also took part.
On the same evening that Deepak and Sheema were inducted into the Rotary club, it received certificates thanking club members for helping to raise more than £270.
