At the invitation of Head Teacher, Mrs Patricia Mason, Rotarians Diana Thurston and Pam Spokes attended an assembly at St Thomas More Academy on 18 June to present prizes and certificates to the winner and runners-up in this year’s competition.

The winning entry was from Sofia Lotto, second prize was awarded to Rosie-Mae Connolly, and joint third prizes went to Caitlin Cummins and Ruby Spriggs.

This is the third year that the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus has been involved in organising a local round of the Rotary Young Writer competition. Diana Thurston, who carried out the judging, said how impressed she was with the standard of writing on this year’s theme “Light up the Community”.
