Unlike many Rotary Clubs, Novus members do not eat every time they meet.
But every so often they dine together for the pleasure and fellowship that a meal gives and sometimes they do so to raise money for good causes.
It was felt appropriate that their meeting closest to World Polio Day on October 24 should contribute still-needed funds to Rotary International’s End Polio Now campaign
So they gathered at The Pizza Parlour in Belgrave Road, which was then still bathed in the lights from the Diwali festival and enjoyed an excellent and inexpensive meal served by Sonal and her team.
The result was that members enjoyed fellowship and chatting about heaps of things (some to do with Rotary) and raised a small amount to continue the End Polio Now campaign.
If this informal approach to raising funds and ‘doing good’ appeals to you, please get in touch via RotaryClubofLeicesterNovus@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you and listen to how you would like to put Service Above Self (Rotary’s international motto).
