Rewarding and encouraging good citizenship

Rotary Stars is the name of a Rotary project designed to reward and encourage good citizenship. Secretary/Youth Service lead Pam Spokes is the member who runs it for the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus.  This is her report 

I was pleased to attend a Celebration Assembly at Mellor Primary School, Checketts Road,  on Friday 14 December 2018 to present Rotary Star certificates to 16 pupils aged between five and 11, representing every school year.  The awards are designed to acknowledge children who deserve recognition and encouragement.

Nominated by their teachers, they all demonstrated good attitudes to learning, helping others and good citizenship.   They are listed below, together with a brief resume of the reason for nomination:

Ameerah Khan for being a model of positive behaviour, helping others, consistently displaying honesty, friendship and optimism

President Jason Chauhan said: “These Rotary Star awards are designed to encourage good attitudes to learning, helping others and good citizenship.”

The Rotary Club of Leicester Novus enjoys working with Mellor Primary School to acknowledge children who deserve recognition and encouragement.”
