Of course, the pub at the heart of Cossington is one Royal Oak. But is it the only one? That was one of the questions set in a walking treasure around the village.
Thirteen members and guests spent about 90 minutes seeking clues to the 41 questions. Over a delicious meal in the pub garden, the winner was unveiled… President Kartar Singh Bring.
In truth, he had received a lot of help from his partner, Rotarian Norman, visiting from Corby.
The event was designed to be for fun, but it also made £30 for Rotary good causes yet to be identified.
The bad news is that the President’s Afternoon, which was to have been held in a member’s garden, to allow members to mix in a socially-distanced way, was postponed because there is a 90 per cent chance of heavy rain for Sunday.
