
The charity Shelterbox, which provides emergency homes in disaster areas has acknowledged the receipt of £1,180, enough for two fully-equipped Shelterboxes from Falcons Primary School in Leicester.
The school has enjoyed a relationship with Leicester Novus Rotary since it opened four years ago. On several occasions, Alan Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Hinckley Ambion, who is the Shelterbox Champion for Rotary Clubs in the east Midlands of England.

In addition to being a shelter, the ‘home in a box’ kit also contains cooking equipment, tools and other essentials.

They are held in store until required and are then flown out to bring life-saving help to families in need.
President Maya Vansia said: “We are proud of our partnership with Falcons Primary School and grateful to them for supporting a Rotary-related charity which does such tremendous good in the world.” She presented the certificate to Jasbir Mann, a founder-member of Novus Rotary and headteacher of Falcons Primary School.
